    Ten padded envelopes were purchased so that I could ship off drawing orders this week. Thanks everyone! These were bought at the Barnes and Noble on campus for .98 cents each.

    I swear someone breaks into our home and steals our scissors at least once a week. Walmart: $1.98

  • 113006: cut and color

    I went to Mia Salon in Starkville and had my hair darkened a bit. Seven inches were also chopped and donated to wigs for kids. Eyebrows were also waxed. Total: $110.00 YOWZA! I justified the money by thinking about all of the money I had saved over the past two years by NOT cutting my hair. or something.

    The entire process of clipping dog nails FREAKS ME OUT! I paid $7.00 for these clippers at our local farmer's co-op. Our poor puppy. She is doomed to have very long claws because even though these are safety clippers, I still think I am going to clip off too much nail.

    I purchased some frames at my favorite thrift shop for fifty cents a each. I wll probably paint them and use them for a show. or maybe not. Maybe I will place family photos in each one of their flaking metal gold frames and hang them on my wall instead of filling them with drawings and spray painting them pink and orange. who am I kidding. I am spray painting them pink and orange. thanks to number one thrift store worker dennis for the super deal.

    Since we moved up fromo a full to a queen, some new bedding materials were in order. I liked this one from URBN because number one: it was one sale and number two: the patter was similar to some flowers that I had drawn for some of our wedding stuff. Awwwww!!! 49.00 from urbn.com (plus 5.95 + 15.00 oversize shipping charge...yikes!)

    Hello back pain! For some unknown reason I have had lower back pain for the past two weeks (it could be that I sit in the most uncomfortable computer chair in northern mississippi). I finally broke down and went to walgreen's to buy some meds. Now, I abhor the HeadOn commericals. I tell my advertising students that simply because an ad is annoying and stays with you, haunting your everything thought, does not mean it is effective advertising. I would like to say I am eating my words with the purchase of ACTIVON. Oh! and it really works. Walgreen's: $9.99

    oh we are so excited. The 2.5 hour drive will be worth it.

    We have been sleeping on a futon for many years and have been wanting a real bed for just as long. Purchased at Target.com for $599.00 then minus a $50.00 gift card we had left over from our wedding. I AM SO EXCITED! It should be here any day. The futon that we have been sleeping on is a good one. I purchased it when I first moved to Omaha in 2000, but I am 29 and Clifton is 32. We are too old to be sleeping on an uncomfortable futon. Let's be grownups now, shall we?

    The Palmer Home Thrift Store is right around the corner from my house so I am able to stop in a lot. Today I noticed that my favorite Palmer Home employee from Columbus was working at the Starkville Palmer. His name is Dennis and he is GREAT! He informed me today that he is going to set aside all of the vintage pieces that come in just for me so I can have first pick. We also talked about Tom Ford and belted men's sweaters. This dress was a dollar. and in perfect condition. Thanks, Dennis!

    FINALLY! I had a $50.00 gift card to amazon and we put it towards an Airport Extreme. No more cords! No more gross clumps of dust building up around those cords! No more dog getting tangled up in the cords! HUZZAH!

    Really, what is with this deodorant packaging? I spent five minutes (which was five minutes too long) deciding which decade of woman I wanted to slather onto my pits in the morning. The 50s was the least repugnant.

    I purchased three diet cokes from the architecture coke machine today for clifton, will and me! I think it was Will that said "ahhh...the sweet sting of carbonation." when I handed it to him. I thought it was funny so I drew it.

    I hate cell phones. I hate talking on the phone. I hate having to have a phone. I hate lousy cell phone connections. I think I wouldn't hate phones nearly as much if my main phone was a heavy, large rotary phone with a crisp connection and a comfortable receiver. My stupid cell phone isn't that. It is my fifty six dollars and eight three cent a month morning alarm.
