yes, I realize, two coffee purchases in a row, but this was the only thing I bought today. I drank refill after refill as I sat downstairs at crema writing student progress emails.
Moxie I am shaking my fist at you. Why do you have to be the store that is right by my bus stop? Why do you always have to clothing that fits me so well and that I like so much? Why did you have to be having a sale on your sale? anyway...I hadn't bought any jeans (new esp.) in a long time. These are awesome. They have some stretch and I wear a size smaller than usual in one of the styles (bonus). Plus I don't think I have worn Jordache jeans since I was 12!
I forgot the second L in russell. oops.
We live above a coffee shop. Clifton and I spent a few hours down there today working on our laptops. The initial cup was $2.50 and then .50 cent refills (though I don't think they cared too much about being paid for the refills).
I have no idea what this plant is, but it needed help. $2.97
the food and drink was spilt three ways...I didn't consume all of this.
oh abita. I will miss you.
my monthly fee.
more details here!
I really am having a hard time with enjoying the new food choices in the union. I keep going back to the exiled subway trailer for my tuna sandwiches. I love the subway trailer. I love the workers. I love it that they are friendly and funny and listen to good music. I love my Rock and Roll Subway. here is an interesting article about the said subway: cdispatch.com/articles/2008/02/24/local_news/area_news/ar...
for BBQ
gah! I can't stop eating them!
not working yet, but soon.
quicker to buy coffee with a gift card than with a debit card or cash in the mornings. Always looking to shave seconds off my coffee time.
I asked clifton to buy me some button's at will's dj set last night.
I purchased this through Printed Matter for $10.00. This is an exhibition catalog for Conrad Bakker's show at the Des Moines Art Center. I have a conrad bakker wooden mix tape and wooden bible. They are some of my favorite objects.
I misspell words more than I would like. Take this drawing for example. I like it that this is not marketed as a highlighter, but as a text surfer. ???
I made a lino cut for a logo that clifton and I were working on last night. I needed to ink up the block for printing!
We went to the union today to eat lunch. The only place open was Chick-fil-a. I am pretty sure clifton enjoyed his meal more than I did.
www.printliberation.com Just in time for the Mississippi Primaries tomorrow!
We needed a larger kitchen trash can.
Alias is my next dvd rental series that I am zooming through as I draw. I like Alias, but not as much as 24 and it can't even begin to touch Six Feet Under. Never. Ever. EVER.
The Public Design Center purchased a loupe from our favorite new printers in Portland: PINBALL PUBLISHING.
Fees Fees Fees. This bill was for January and February.
Getting ready for the February Zine Subscriber shipment! If you want to get in on the action read more here!
While I was helping install the MSU AIGA Design Show I hopped downstairs to the Union's Starbuck's and grabbed a coffee.
Clifton and I had a Sunday Night chinese buffet dinner.
We stopped our pay as you go phone from Virgin. Total rip off.
purchased at 12:50 am at a bar in richmond, virginia. This was eaten by several people. It was awesomely disgusting and good.
Jennifer gave me a few of her Ricola's earlier in the day and I later purchased a pack all for myself at one of the student union store's at VCU.
Because I have paid the last of my library fines at UNL, I am now eligible for my official transcripts. I have never been sent my MFA diploma either. Hey, I guess I just graduated for real now! Look at me! I have my MFA! (four years later)
I used up the last of my autumnal colors. Time for spring! and spring lists!
Been rocking the Altoids lately...not by choice, but simply to use up the three tins that I had in my office. I purchased some gum today. Good to be home.
Purchased at the open portfolios during the Southern Graphics Printmaking Conference. www.isleofprinting.com/ $10.00
Wow. Terribly long day getting home from Richmond. This was needed to survive my 7 hours waiting for my plane in Memphis.
My friend Kari has an etsy store! www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5325118 I love love love her work. She was the other bride for Holy Double Matrimony!
Again, another series that I never got around to watching. Season Two: $3.19 from Blockbuster.
well, we think a mouse died in the walls.
Sometimes there is music that people rave about and somewhere in my mind I tell myself that I don't want to listen to it because so many people are telling me to listen to it (I know, I really act like I am 13 sometimes). Bon Iver fell into this category. I wish I had listened to all of the people who told me to listen to Bon Iver earlier. What a great album.
Print Liberation's email blast worked on me today. I clicked the image in my inbox and ordered a yellow ladies large asap. www.printliberation.com
I had to do this in color. I need to do more in color, I think. This is a scrap scarf purchased on etsy for 11 bucks.
I did it. I was waiting for my sprint contract to finish (it did, in december 2007) and then I spent the last four months trying to figure out if I really needed one. I love it, by the way.
I really wish 58 cent stamps were better looking. These are too pink and frilly.
I have had three of these this week. No idea why.
I purchased three hot pink, plastic file boxes to hold my zine masters. Trying to get organized since I am printing a second edition on all of my issues.
I love pencil shavings. I love sharpening pencils. I could sharpen colored pencils all day long.
Needed to purchase a hairdryer to quicken the dry time of my stains and ink for the dirty laundry show.
I purchased a lot more, but this is just a sampling.
purchased an iron (I know, we don't own one :) to heat set the ink on my shirts for the dirty laundry show.
Purchased at Tender Loving Empire. www.tenderlovingempire.com www.artintheage.com
I picked some coffee for my program head (and friend) lis today. Looks like starbucks is rocking the holiday cups.
so my favorite headphones have a short in them or something. I only get sound from one side and I thought I would be okay with that, but I realized it was throwing me off a bit after a few weeks. I picked up a replacement pair at Target for 20 bucks. I miss my red headphones! RIP: www.flickr.com/photos/kateconsumption/2513760879/in/set-7...
buy one get one free at Columbia Art Supply.
Walgreen's had a bunch of Physician's Formula Makeup on sale (50% off) so I scoop up some odd pieces, hence the Plump Potion. This crap literally stings my lips. Sure, they get plump but it is because they are swollen with pain.
I totally fell victim to the "buy your shampoo at the salon" syndrome. My stylist convinced me that if I didn't get blonde shampoo my blonde streak would fade. What is a girl to do? This stuff smells amazing, by the way.
I love zip car. I rented a truck all day long to move my desk and other boxes into my office at school. Also moved a couch into the new graphic design rooms.
www.pinestatebiscuits.com The owner gave my husband a free Cheerwine last week. We came in for breakfast this week. That is how it works.
The Laurelhurst Theater is right down the street from our apartment. We don't take advantage of it as much as we should, but we did on Friday night and watched Man On Wire. GO SEE IT! www.laurelhursttheater.com
It is true. I went to Fred Meyer's just for Fat Free Ranch. I was growing tired of the "good for you" dressings and wanted to go back to my preferred dipping and dressing method.
I figured I would celebrate having dental insurance by getting a new toothbrush and purchasing new floss. Now, I just have to get the nerve up to make a dentist appointment.
Purchased at Bombshell Vintage on Burnside. One is BRIGHT red, but the other is more of a maroon and a bit longer with pleats. I wouldn't have worn the maroon skirt while I was teaching at Mississippi because it might have looked like I was sporting school colors. I don't do that.
My body goes into cold sweats when I get nervous and I have noticed that the palms of my hands get especially slippery when I bike in a lot of traffic. These gloves keep my hands on the handle bars instead of my sweaty hands guiding me into a ditch.
I have a sick weakness for seek and find games...or as I like to call them "hiding games". Yes, I am 8. I was SO excited to see that Big FIsh Games (one of the BEST hiding game companies) offer Everest for the iphone...and for .99 cents!!!!
I do. I keep one in my pocket at all times.
Miss Maybelle has a case of the ADHD. She can play frisbee in the house, but when we get to the dog park it is all about sniffing butts.
I never use these to reinforce holes...just love having dot stickers around.
excellent purchase from the PSU bookstore. It holds all of my cords and my computer for me...and my pens!
One is filled with paper and bags and the other is now filled with prints and zines. Two printers sit on top of them. I LOVE these files.
I am going through a music phase (again) where I can't listen to words when I work. The Books fit the bill.
The art building has a parking lot. One dollar for 30 minutes. MSU kids thought THEIR parking situation was expensive.
Milk goes on cereal and into our mac and cheese.
This was clifton's first portland concert. It was great to finally see them live after listening to them for almost 15 years.
buy it here: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6306177 I am wearing this shirt RIGHT NOW. WOAH!
We went with zach and emily to watch the last presidential debate at the laurelhurst theater. I ate this pizza and also consumed a beer.
sometimes I simply crave milk duds. Purchased this box at walgreen's on belmont.
These damn little lights. They worked totally fine in Mississippi, but all three of them blew out once we moved to Portland. I purchased replacements.
My office food stash saves my life.
I picked up two chicken pot pies from Whole Foods and also some sweet potatoes. Totally feeling the fall vibe in the air. Though, in the future I am going to split one of these. I was totally feeling the bloated belly vibe after consuming a whole pie.
Jenny Lewis is one artist that I fully support with every album release. Long time Rilo Kiley fan (I even bought Under the Blacklight ...woah). Her solo stuff is amazing.
so much cheaper than starkville. It also helps that we have radiant floor heating that we don't have to pay for. OH and we also don't have air conditioning. Perhaps these are the reasons for the lower bill.
I am still here. I have a pile of drawings that need to be scanned and uploaded and blogged. This month has been the busiest month I have yet to experience. My Obsessive Consumption duties have had to be put to the side while I deal with new job (all good!), freelance jobs (all good and more details soon!) and a top secret project that I will soon be able to talk about as well (totally killing me not to be able to mention more!) So for now, I am here, I have lots of drawings and all is GREAT! oh yeah, I bought this plant on October 2nd from the plant store across the street.
Pretty sure I am not into these. I like the fact that they don't bleed, but I don't like the tips (except for the brush pen...that one will be used).
My hair is just a shade or two darker than my normal brown. I also made my bangs blonde. It has been 13 months since I made my last haircut drawing. see my avatar for reference.
duh. had to get them.
if this were new if would cost $150 bucks! purchased second hand at city bikes just a few blocks down the street.
